During the period from October 29 to October 31, Dongfang Electronics Corporation (DFE or the Company for short) made a brilliant appearance at CEPSI 2025 (Conference on the Electric Power Supply Industry). Together with State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) of the Maldives, DFE showcased the full-scenario “Source-Grid-Load-Storage” smart energy solution, actively promoted the implementation of the International Zero-Carbon Island Cooperation Initiative, and released the cooperation plan for power system construction in island countries. By virtue of 40-odd years of technological practices in the energy and power sector, DFE brought forth the intelligent upgrading path for the power industry, in order to grope for the future of the digital energy alongside global partners.

Brilliant Appearance at the Exhibition:

Full-Chain Solutions Construe Intelligent Upgrading

At this exhibition, the DFE booth drew attention from a number of clients including China Electricity Council (CEC), Indonesian Smart Grid Association, as well as those from Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and other countries. Centering on energy cooperation, DFE, together with its clients, had in-depth discussions and exchanges, aiming to bring together wisdom and resources from multiple parties, and to explore new paths for energy transition and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region.

During the exhibition, Dongfang Electronics Corporation, together with STELCO of the Maldives, showcased the cooperation plan for power system construction in island countries. Starting from factors such as integrated island energy governance, fishery breeding, seawater desalination, and sewage treatment, DFE accurately located the energy construction needs of islands and provided custom-made zero-carbon paths for different types of islands.

Achievements in Asia-Pacific Market:
From “Equipment Supplier” to “Ecosystem Construction Participant”

In recent years, Dongfang Electronics Corporation has actively implemented China's “Belt and Road” Initiative and dual-carbon strategy in multiple domains ranging from single products to full-chain services. It has achieved cross-regional implementation in overseas market, contributing to the construction of a new global power and energy ecosystem. In the meantime, it has amassed an abundance of practical experience in zero-carbon island cooperation.

Malaysian Market: Since it made inroads into the Malaysian market in 2004, the Company has increased its presence in remote terminal unit (RTU) sector to over 60%, making it a core partner in the field of substation automation.

Maldivian Market: From the Fenaka smart grid to the STELCO capital-rim upgrading project, the Company has built an AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure) smart metering system covering 180 islands, which provided 8.5 million kWh of clean electricity and brought down carbon emissions by 2,000 tons per year.

Sri Lankan Market: the Company predominated in the implementation of Colombo Smart Grid AMI Project and distribution SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) upgrading project. This enabled Colombo, where fuel-fired power generation accounted for 70% of the total, to transform from “Ensuring power supply” to “Optimizing power consumption”, putting an end to the sharp fluctuations in electricity prices.

●Nepalese Market: In Nepal, the Company has implemented such projects as data center, distribution control center and AMI project for Nepal Electricity Authority. That improved Nepal’s power grid structure and electricity consumption quality, ushering in a new era of smart grid in Nepal.

●Macao SAR Market: the Company provided CCS (Control and Command System) and smart electricity terminals for Macao Electric Power, and established a joint laboratory on digital and intelligent empowerment for new-type power distribution and consumption technologies. Such moves facilitate the digital and intelligent transformation of Macao’s power system and the construction of smart power distribution.
●Hong Kong SAR Market: the Company provided remote control terminals and smart electricity meters for China Light & Power Company, helping Hong Kong set a benchmark for low-carbon smart cities.
●Zero-Carbon Island Practice: the Company engaged in the construction of state-level power dispatch center of Nicaragua, realizing panoramic monitoring and control over the power grid; the Company built a full-island smart microgrid for Rhodes, Greece, increasing the new energy integration rate by more than 16%; the Company signed an agreement on the “Photovoltaic-storage Smart Microgrid Project” with Fiji, in order to build a photovoltaic sightseeing corridor; the Company promoted the implementation of Micronesia Microgrid Cooperation Initiative to deepen zero-carbon cooperation.

Today, Dongfang Electronics Corporation has transformed from the an RTU equipment exporter to the provider of overall smart energy solutions. In the Asia-Pacific region, DFE has supplied a total of more than 100,000 sets of products such as smart electricity meters and distribution terminals. Moreover, the Company took advantage of local branches to achieve the dual empowerment for technology implementation and talent cultivation.

Speedup of globalization:

Chinese Wisdom Lights up the Energy Landscapes of 70 Countries

At this session of CEPSI exhibition, the Company’s strategic transformation from product export to ecosystem co-construction aroused extensive attention. As the motto conveyed in the exhibition area goes: "In Malaysia, we are the 'stabilizer' for power grid construction; in the Maldives, we are the 'catalyst' for energy transition; and globally, we are the 'sower' of the green ecosystem." Fang Zhengji, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Dongfang Electronics Corporation, said: "The practice in the Asia-Pacific market has proved that Chinese smart energy solutions are not only technologically solid but also can accurately meet local needs. Positive results have also been achieved in the exploration of cooperation in emerging fields such as zero-carbon island construction. In the future, we will continue to take CEPSI as a link to further enrich the connotation of international zero-carbon island cooperation, promote the implementation of more energy construction models around the world, and contribute to the sustainable development of global energy with Chinese wisdom."
